Here at Berres Brothers, we’re always working on brewing up something great for coffee drinkers (and people who think they aren’t!). Making coffees that create an escape from the ordinary is central to our mission, which is why we’ve developed over 50 coffee varieties, 40 of which are flavored, and how we became perhaps most well-known for our flavors. Every season, we release limited-edition coffees, as well as some that stick around as favorites.
So, how do we do it? Let’s take a behind-the-scenes look into the latest unique coffee flavors from Berres Brothers Coffee Roasters.
Choosing the Flavors and the Roasting Process
Berres Brothers flavored coffees start with a carefully selected bean that provides the perfect balance of coffee and flavor once flavoring is added. We use the same bean for all of our flavored varieties for consistency and quality.
From there, our team gets to work developing the recipes, experimenting with unique flavor combinations, and researching the latest food and beverage trends to bring you your new favorites.
Then comes the roasting. We use a special air roasting process to keep the bean from coming into contact with hot metal surfaces and creating a charred or bitter taste. We add flavoring minutes after roasting the beans (we can’t give away all of our secrets, so we’ll just leave it at that) to seal in flavors and avoid an artificial or chemical aftertaste. Then comes quality control and the packaging.
Returning Favorites: Boston Cream Pie and Peruvian Dark Chocolate Coffee
This season, we’re excited to bring back two of our customers’ favorites: Boston Cream Pie and Peruvian Dark Chocolate.
Boston Cream Pie Flavored Coffee
A take on the classic dessert, Boston Cream Pie coffee is a rich and creamy combination of custard and chocolate glaze flavors. It’s perfect enjoyed by itself as a dessert coffee or paired with fruits like strawberries, raspberries, or bananas. If you need an extra sweet treat, try Berres Brothers Boston Cream Pie coffee after dinner paired with chocolate (even better, we recommend this easy recipe for One-Bowl Chocolate Chip Banana Bread).
Peruvian Dark Chocolate Flavored Coffee
We introduced our other returning flavor, Peruvian Dark Chocolate Coffee, last year, and we’re bringing it back this year due to popular demand! We’ve heard rumors it can give you a sugar rush just by smelling it, so if you need an afternoon pick-me-up, this might be your new go-to. Rich chocolate notes deliver a deep decadent flavor, so it pairs well with your favorite berries as a light, delightful snack. If you’re feeling indulgent, pair with this Strawberry Torte or Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Pie.

The New Flavor Line-Up: Ginger Crème Brûlée and Vanilla Honeysuckle Coffee
Ginger Crème Brûlée Flavored Coffee
With a spicy note of ginger added to a classic custard taste, Ginger Crème Brûlée is quickly becoming a top favorite among our customers. Berres Brothers designer Kate Meyers describes it as a “French dessert flavor with spicy, earthy, and exotic notes.”
The unique flavors make for endless pairing opportunities. Enjoy as a spicy finish for these Florida Grapefruit Shortcakes, by itself as an afternoon treat, or after dinner with a light, citrusy dessert (we recommend this Blood Orange Almond Cake).
Also pairs well with caramel, carrot cake, and coconut.

Vanilla Honeysuckle Flavored Coffee
Featuring floral notes balanced with vanilla bean, Vanilla Honeysuckle, our other new flavor offering, is a perfect coffee to enjoy in spring. It offers a dreamy, sweet bloom smell and simple vanilla flavor, making it perfect for a light treat. Brighten up your morning by pairing with classic Peaches and Cream Oatmeal or a Lemon Poppyseed Muffin, or if you’re feeling adventurous, try it with a Matcha Biscotti.
Also pairs well with mango, pineapple, and almond.
Hazelnut Cream Coffee: A Forever Favorite
Hazelnut Cream is the last (but not least) flavor in this spring’s line-up—and a permanent offering here at Berres Brothers due to its high demand. Tried, true, and smooth, hazelnut coffee is one of our top requests and perfect for everyday sipping. Enjoyable at any time of day, it pairs well with almost anything sweet, from fruits to nuts to caramel to crepes.
We love Hazelnut Cream Coffee with a good, glazed donut, but if you want to branch out, try it with Golden Rum Cake, Mocha Mousse, or Black Forest Cherry Trifle. Plus, as one of our permanent coffee flavors, Hazelnut Cream Coffee is available in beans or grounds and regular or decaf.
