NOTE: this coffee is coarse ground. lowers the acidity of coffee without sacrificing flavor or boldness. A finer grind can tend to clump together, and the cold water needs to circulate freely through the ground coffee for optimal extraction.
Cold Brew Coffee Recipe
This will make a fairly concentrated coffee on its own, but it’s perfect for pouring over ice or mixing with milk – or both.
The ratio of coffee grounds to water is subjective and depends on personal taste. A good place to start is for every cup of water, you’ll need 1 ounce (28g) coarsely ground coffee.
1.) Combine the coffee and the water, making sure the grounds are thoroughly saturated with water.
2.) Cover and steep 12-15 hours. The coffee can be left on the counter or refrigerated.
3.) Strain the coffee using cheesecloth or flour sack cloth.
4.) Store the coffee in the fridge for up to a week.
5.) Serve the coffee with as much ice, water or milk as you prefer.
